What a wild ride this was! It was a slow burn and with the variety of characters, I understand some of the criticism; but for me I enjoyed it. Mostly told through Frances, but probably the highest POV count I’ve read in a bit. Some great twists; this one seems made for TV, so looking forward to the Hulu adaptation.

Trigger Warning: heavy discussions re suicide and drug abuse/use

I really disliked this book. All the characters are horrid - I guess that's the point - but it made it a real struggle to read. Can't believe they made a 'successful' movie out of it.

This was an ok read, short chapter written from the viewpoint of different characters. Unfortunately I didn't engage with or particularly like any of the characters. Whilst there was an intriguing opening, and the setting of a health resort where everything is not as it seems was a bit different from the norm, ultimately it wasn't a book for me. It would probably have worked better for me as a holiday read.

This is the most bonkers Moriarty work I've read to date, and I can see how it would be polarizing.

I, for one, LOVED it, and am a little surprised at just how much I enjoyed it. I was concerned it wouldn't hold my (admittedly short) attention, and that I wouldn't be able to keep the thirteen (yes, thirteen) perspectives apart. But Moriarty's characters are so lifelike, it was easy to differentiate between them, and I wanted to spend every minute with them that I could.

This book is suspenseful, though not in a twisty thriller kind of way. It's more that you want to keep pace with the journey as it unravels.

I listened to the audiobook on a series of long drives, and was hoping for something to become fully immersed in. This did it. Laugh-out-loud funny in parts, intriguing, satirical, and little nuts, this story kept me fully entertained. Next to Big Little Lies, this might be my favorite Moriarty book.

Bonus points for a truly stellar audio performance by Caroline Lee.

Moriarty is a master at pacing, just right amount of suspense, and bringing all the characters together
