I read this book back in 5th grade and remembered how scared it was when our teacher showed the videos. I wanted to reminisce and god this broughht back memories. I loved the Skeleton Creek books as a kid. Obviously now over 15 years later theyre a bit silly but I still enjoyed this a quick read

I picked up this book because I thought mixing media was an interesting choice. The book relies too heavy on this because about nothing else happens.
The characters have no motive to continue solving the mystery and Ryan battles if he blames Sarah or not for the accident.
He should. She dragged him to the dredge and continues dragging him to the same place after it happened.
Again there's no reason he should keep going except for his like for Sarah who isn't a likeable character.
I'm writing this as the last video plays and dear god lets hope something happens in it.
I read the whole book entirely because I was hoping something would happen and by the time I realized nothing does for the whole book I thought "Well might as well add another book to my reading challenge."
Also nothing happened in that last video. This doesn't count as a spoiler because I can't spoil something that isn't even there.

Kevin wanted me to read this series because they were his favorite books when he was a kid. This one was pretty good for a kids' book. It's a "journal" and there's links in the book to videos on their "blog". So that’s pretty cool. Slow going, but it's a kids' book so that’s to be expected. Read the whole thing in like an hour though so that made me feel like a speed reader because it's 185 pages.

I used this as a class book for my 8th grade students. They LOVED IT. Great segways into bringing up literary allusions and references to works of the classic horror genre. PERFECT for spooky season.

I really enjoy the way this book is set up. I wish I had been able to have books like this when I was a kid, mind you we did not have computers like we do know, but it would have been great to read. The concept of using different means of communication, reading and watching, are a great combination and I couldn't wait to see the next clip. I can see how students in grade 7-9 could really get creative with this series.
