It was an amusing, light read.

I enjoyed that this story didn't very much involve the ton or the courting season.
It is where Sophie and Benedict meet, but I liked that they really got to know one another away from everyone else for a week in the countryside, even if this was accidental (or accidentaly on purpose in Benedicts case).

Also enjoyed seeing a more feisty side of Violet at the end of the book, sticking up for her son, Sophie and Posy.

I kind liked the dynamicish like go rich men but the plot and Cinderella bit was so dumb and obvious and stupid

I LOVE Sophie. She has to be one of my favorite heroines. She was so strong and resilient -- what a woman! Also Benedict, agh! What a sweetie. The Bridgerton family in this book just makes me want a huge family. Loved it!

In conclusion, Anthony and Daphne are menaces to society and Benedict is just kinda stupid.

Don’t judge me. I’ve been reading constantly for book clubs and book awards committees since August. My brain needed a break. How am I just now figuring out that these Bridgestone novels are adaptations of other stories? This one is inspired by the Cinderella story. I didn’t read the first two, just watched the series. Disappointed a bit by season 2, I needed more in the world to satisfy me. This was witty and full of sexual tension. It’s closer to 3.5 ⭐️ than 4.
