This sci-fi story about a law enforcement agent who has to police dreams that have escaped into the real world. It's got political intrigue, and a strong family storyline.

I think, based on coloring, that there were multiple narrators over the course of the book, which added a layer of confusion. Unfortunately, the narration was an integral part of the storyline, and was the only weak point of anotherwise great story.

I would still definitely pick up more by this creative team, to see where they go. The ideas they presented were solid, and I enjoyed the art.

Ever wondered what would happen if your nightmares were set free in the waking world? The inventive, elaborately-built world in Queen of Bad Dreams explores that notion, with a memorable cast of characters, a plot that constantly keeps readers on their toes, and art that perfectly straddles dreams and reality for a truly ethereal, mind-boggling tale. Vault put out a number of remarkable titles in 2019, and still, this is a shining star.

Like Sandman with queer and trans Black and Asian characters. Fast-paced and badass. A couple of scenes were unclear, but the premise is solid, and the vibrant art style looked good. OwnVoices representation is so good, hope to see more work like this.

This issue is beautiful and the story is so intriguing. What if your dreams could spill into reality? Amazing premise and expertly written by Danny Lore. Honestly can't wait for issue 2!

I'd compare this world to Men in Black, but instead of aliens, it's about the creatures spawned from people's dreams. Daher's relationship with her ex-wife and daughter tugged at my heart. I enjoyed the art. The fight scenes were fluid and well-executed, and the designs of the more bestial dream figments were inventive. Queen of Bad Dreams examines corruption, family, justice, and what our dreams say about us.
