This book was powerful. I loved the story and while it may have took me some time to get into at first I quickly was able to make my way through it absorbed by the story of the bookstore owner A. J. Fikry.

This was a slow meandering type of book. Nothing crazy happened. Just a slice of life novel but it felt cozy and welcoming.

This story was so precious!

I listened to this during a long car ride, so got it done in one sitting. It kept me focused on the story the whole time and I was eager to finish it.

This book felt like a hug. It read like a love letter to books and all that they stand for.

Was it cheesy and feel-good-y? Sure. Was it maybe a tad predictable with some stereotypical characters? Yeah. Did I love it anyway? Of course!

I could see this book not working for everyone, but it worked for me, and I'm glad I finally read it. Definitely recommend the audiobook!

Didn’t think I’d get emotional. Finished most of it in a day. Cried in a library while putting off studying 10/10

As far as actual content: I can genuinely say A.J. Fikry is a character i was attached to from the beginning

a book centered on family, community, and books, three things which I really love. it's a story spanning many years in a small town, where we find love (platonic and romantic) and experience loss and lots of other small things that are a part of life. i think it packs a punch for its small format. i really enjoyed this one, and the narrator was really good.

This book definitely kept me engaged - I finished it in three days! A light/medium read, though it includes serious subject matter (see StoryGraph content warnings). Fun for book lovers, as many books and short stories are referenced. My only "complaint" (if  one could even call it that) is that a few times the narrative skips ahead many years in a way that felt a little jolting.

A bit corny, but as Kate Winslet said “I’m looking for corny in my life” This is a book to make you feel cozy and remind you about how special books are. Lovely time
