If you like the Dark Tower series, you'll probably like this. Easy and fast to read, with some connections to Dark Tower in interesting ways. A few gripes I have though: about halfway through, it really slogs. Sequels would be nice, as the book doesn't resolve very well. Overall though, I enjoyed it. I discovered it through a recommendation for "kids" fantasy. Warning, this is not a book for kids. Teens maybe.
