A tense, uneasy read from start to finish.

“She was a void; you couldn’t frighten something that didn’t exist.”

Another book I’ve had in my shelf for a long time, and another book that didn’t quite hit.

This story felt a bit all over the place and I never felt completely invested. With Rainy, she’s worried her past is going to come back haunt her during a girls’ trip to Vegas. I did really like getting the Rainy’s past and present, which offered a lot of insight into her character.

Usually going in blind works out really well for me, but in this case I felt a little confused and it took me time to understand what was going on. The pacing is slow and it just feels off the entire way through. When the plot gets messy, the story finally picks up but it wasn’t enough to be overly enjoyable.

One part thriller, one part cult, and you've roped me in.

It was good! But not sure what else to say about it honestly.

I really enjoyed this book, but felt that the ending was lacking. There was a lot of build up and then…. Nothing really. Would still recommend as it was a good read, I just expected more from the ending.

Pretty good. The transition into the Ginger part didn't really make sense to me and I consider it a plot hole... But entertaining none the less.

I think Tarryn Fisher is my favorite new (to me) author! I just read her bio on Goodreads and it made me love her a little bit more than her books already did. This y’all!! Different, captivating, exciting, and satisfying. Definitely a big ~ READ IT! 5 stars from me, and that’s only because 6 stars isn’t an option.

This was an interesting story. I like the way that Tarryn Fisher parceled out Rainy's background information. It kept me guessing, then second guessing what I thought was going on.

Not what I was expecting but an amazing thriller that kept me enthralled. Would make a great movie. Highly recommend.
