I really enjoyed the writing, just on point, the content and the conversation behind is totally appreciated, especially after reading the author's note, saying how most of the time the crimes are more focused on the police investigation and the perpetrator but the victims are almost forgotten

I enjoy Jess Lourey, she captures the 80s so well. If you grew up in that time you will be taken back. Her stories are eerie and full of deviants in the guise of "normal," people. Its always a ride.

I really liked this, and I have a special love for characters who love their cats this much. I felt very endeared to Frankie and Crane. I enjoyed the plant drawings throughout, especially the adorable kitten plant! This is based on true events of the satanic panic of the 80s, and it's crazy to think how widespread that was without even having social media to fan the flames. Apparently everyone just decided one day that Satan lived in their neighborhood?

This book was hyped as being about the 80s satanic panic wave that griped the country; it really was a story about the protagonist's grief, and her parents. Side rant: if you write a book set in the past, authenticity language/words is important. No one in the US was saying ginger for a redhead.
