I forget how easily this author sucks me into her books.
She has this incredible ability to create magic in a few sentences that make the characters not just realistic but so close to be able to touch. Allen's strength is in that magical realism as she takes you through these people's lives for a few pages as the perspective changes from one character to another.
This was a page turner for me that I had to force myself to slow down and be able to see Lost Lake, it's inhabitants and the ghosts in the water.
