It helps to explain the short story further in depth, as well as the film of the same name. Although the loyalties of certain character's constantly being in debate got a bit old, ultimately I loved this story, especially the way it strayed between the rational and the supernatural.

I've seen this movie and it was amazing!!! this novelization is in fact just as good and followed it perfectly!!!<3 so worth getting it for about $3.00 at a retail book store.
i have also read the Irving version which was the original story, wasn't as fore filling as this remake was. i just did not like it when i read it in my college English class... but this one and the movie was very great and i was on the edge of my seat both times!!!
