I know I am going against the crowd here but it was just so slow. I never skip ahead but had to with this one. It was hard to stay focused. If this hadn’t been so drawn out, the plot itself was great and I would have given it 4 stars.

Haunting. It had me gripped from the start. I particularly enjoyed the first few chapters, where you are kept guessing what crime has been committed.
Someone is lying, you are kept guessing who and why.

Only meh. By the time I got halfway through the book, I was just wanting it to be over. I sort of saw the big twist coming.

This is an amazing book! I loved the ending and it is exactly what I want mystery books to be like

A slow start but then I was hooked. And I didn't guess the big twist.

I love stories, like this, where we don't know the truth, we find out little by little as the characters in the book do, but then something happens and we realise (Well I do) long before the characters do that there is a HUGE something not being seen.
This story is about two families, connected by friendship who have to deal with a horrible thing, the death of a baby.
I almost couldn't read the story because of the baby death, but it was worth it mainly so I could say I KNEW IT. I have a few other Jackie Kabler's to read, so look forward to guessing the ending!
