WELL, "Hexslayer" is now my favourite of the Hexworld series. For now.
I'm not sure what Jordan did to make this one stand out for me from the rest, but I'm pretty sure it was partly due to absolutely wonderful main characters and a much more fast-paced and natural writing style.
I definitely wanted to know about Nick's story when I got to meet him previously but boy, did he irritate me. So imagine the surprise when I found myself reading this book halfway into the night, unable to stop.
I loved Nick here but I especially loved Jamie and together they made me laugh and blush and root for them with my whole heart. They were literally made for one another and I loved how both of them managed to meet in a middle ground and finally comprehend and appreciate and trust one another.
The story was compelling and heartbreaking and made me worry and ache for the fate of the ferals Nick is so adamant about protecting.
And now I'm very very curious to read the fourth, and final, book. I'm sure Isaac and Bill's story will destroy me.
