fun book

Such a fun book. The characters are fabulous. Of course we don’t have all the answers yet. The characters are such a great mix, of funny, humble, and serious. I love that Bri is young and clueless, and it’s not an immediate hop into the sack with multiple people. There is a story playing out and developing. Told in first person point of view.

Standalone/Cliffhanger?: Cliffhanger
Part of a Series?: Yes
----------------------------------
Meeting the Characters
Brianne Harlow
----------------------------------
What happens?
Brianne is going to her number one pick for academies with her best friend Elijah. (Probably spelt that wrong). What he doesn't know is that Bri has been crushing on him for years and is dying to finally tell him how she feels. However; she is stopped or rather put off from doing so by attracting the attention of the notorious four during one of her random teleportation stents. She is then thrust further into their attention when she realises she is sharing a room with one of the boys.
Final thoughts
I'll get onto the book but I feel like I need to highlight this quote from the book that struck me as something we don't do or think enough especially as teenagers.
"Being innocent shouldn't be taken as an insult. Taking time to study and learn about yourself isn't a flaw. Being slow doesn't mean you don't catch things, but it demonstrates you need more information to put one and two together. You're not clueless. Everything comes with experience, and you're only sixteen."

I do think that this is a good start to a series. I have already read the second book while I'm writing this so I'm trying to not change my star rating based on that book and just go off my first impressions of this book.
Bri is very innocent and its kind of endearing in this book; shes not very old so I can see how she is so innocent. I love the way she forms friendships with the guys even if they're not completely friendly right away.
Would I read again?: Yes

I really enjoyed the setup of this book! Bri is an excellent main character: kind, smart, a bit clueless, and not some irritating shrinking violet. She's a force to be reckoned with when she's angry!
SpoilerI loved seeing her outmaneuver Jax's parents at the end of the book! Truely awesome.
I also like the guys: Jax (the most developed at the moment), Kaito
SpoilerI'm rooting for him and Finnick!
(also, it's cool that this harem is somewhat diverse), Finnick, and Connor (
Spoilerhis mind reading gift is interesting. I want to get to know him better.
). Anyway, good harem, and good MC. It's slow burn. I wish classes had more detail, so maybe the next book will improve on that. This one didn't really have them actually learning to use their magic though. On Elijah:
SpoilerI had high hopes for him, but he ended up sucking. I wanted him to redeem himself after the thing at his house, but then he believed all of those nasty rumors, and was generally sucky. Anyway, I'm disappointed in him, but impressed that Avery Song chose to go that way, as I thought he would be a member of the harem at first.
4 stars. I will read the sequel.

“I love your tattoos, and I like how you love sweets and unicorns. When you wear your unicorn slippers especially, it makes me want to hug you like a teddy bear."

Wow, this book was such a ride. I absolutely adored the characters, the world, and the storyline. To be honest, I was not sure what to think about this book when I first started it but as soon as the story got to the academy I was hooked. I read the first three books back to back and literally could not stop. I did not want to sleep.
———————————————————————————————————————
What I loved about this book was how the men in this book were not the stereotypical men that I am used to reading about. All four men were manly but they all enjoyed bright colours, unicorns, dancing, and so much more. Two of the guys wore unicorn and kitty slippers and I loved it. I do not think I’ve ever read a book were the men are like that. We need more books with men like these guys. It was refreshing to read a book that had men like this. They were truly themselves and did not give a shit about what people thought about them. I fell in love with Jax, Conner, Kaito, and Finnick. These four guys own my heart.

Avery Song did an amazing job writing this book. This book 4 stars from me. I’m looking forward to reading more by this author.

So... this was kind of bad. Most of the time, when people say that the writing in a book is weird or off, I don't really notice it, maybe because English is not my first language. But if even I could tell that the writing in this book is cringy, awkward, and repetitive, that must mean that it's really bad, right?

Besides that, what 16-year-old girl doesn't get basic references or know anything about sex? She's not 10? Even if you have never done anything with a boy, you at least know how things work. So her being clueless about normal things was really exasperating, annoying, and just ridiculous.

However...I didn't hate it? It was ridiculous at points but I kind of want to know what happens next lol. I admit that I tend to keep reading a book, even if it's bad, if I'm interested in at least one aspect of it, and I want to know more about their magic, so I'll probably keep reading.

Witchling Academy! Welcome, all! This book is fun, fast-paced and trust me when I say...it's hard to put down. Once you start this book, clear your schedule, grab a snack, and get comfortable because this story is a real treat!
Meet Brianne, the younger sister of Starlight - amazing sister who really kicks butt, and daughter to two parents who are on the magic council. So as you can guess...her last name gains her quite a bit of attention. But that's not all. She has a unique gift, too. She's a spell traveler and boy does this exceptional gift get her in trouble. LOL! She can't control it so of course...she ends up in odd places...at inconvenient times. Ready for more? Dive in!
I have to say that this author has written a fantastic story. You get so much and I love it! Brianne has a crush on her best friend, but she's afraid to push the boundaries. Are there really any though? Missed signals really do suck. Let's all agree to that. Her and her bestie Elijah get accepted to Witchling Academy, but what Bri doesn't expect...is all the attention that she quickly acquires. Now! I am an avid fan of cute cats and hot guys and this book is full of both. So as you can imagine...I was in heaven and jealous. LOL! The pacing of this story is fantastic! There is never a dull moment! I love the interactions between the characters and how well it all flows.
Needless to say...I'm beyond eager for more of this series. If you are looking for an engaging reverse harem novel then this is the book to pick up. The author keeps this story YA and slow-burning because of Bri's age, but you can tell that there is more to come and I'm ready for it! For that, I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars! I will be crawling the walls eagerly anticipating the next book and devouring it as soon as I get my claws on it.

Okay I absolutely loved this. Bri is the most relatable, most perfectly awesome MC EVERRRR. All of the N4 were great, even Elijah was great in his own special way.

Okay, I know this book had no plot. And no action. And that it was basically just Bri living her best life. BUT I AM SO INVESTED. This just marks the quality of the writing style. And the magic system was super fun too. I am sooo over the usual elemental only magic books. At least add a little spice to the powers like with Jax!

This is my second time reading this and both times my family has had to ask me if I’m okay because my face is bright red. Not only do I feel waves of second hand embarrassment, but everything was so darn cute! I legit squealed. Moving on to the second one now because I am quarduply (totally a word) in love and just read moooooore!
