i was interested to see where this story would go after the ending in the second book and it seems like it's now trying to turn to a typical investigator/detective series where the main character solves a new case each book.
i still liked this installment but the story is getting a little tired now. i like the characters, their relationships still feel real and raw, but at the same time, it does all start to feel a little repetitive. i'm curious to see where else the story goes from here but i think i'm starting to see the formula now. still a fun read though!

Another amazing book to the series! When I saw she had written a third book (and now a fourth) I was really excited. Getting the chance to read this amazing story about Gwen and her family, just excites me on what challenges and dangers she may have to face.
If you love thriller books, this series is perfect! You get crime, thriller, murders, romance, mystery, action and many other amazing things! Rachel Caine is an amazing author, and I adore all her books 😍 I am super excited to see what book 4 will bring in the future ☺️ x
It’s strange how excited I get for rereading this series, but I am now all up to date with what has happened in Gwen’s life so far. I still really enjoyed this book and is definitely a 5⭐️ still. I can’t wait to get stuck into book 4 to see how their story continues.
I am really liking how Rachel does the different POV’s it makes the story interesting, and gives us all an insight on what the other characters are feeling and going through.
I recommend this series, even if your not a crime/mystery person you will be after reading this series x
