Light seekers was a very good read. I loved the mysterious twists and turns and how everything started to come together towards the end, however, I would say the ending was left on a bit of a cliffhanger and it would have been good to get some more answers and learn more about the main villain.

A 2.5 stars for me

The book has a promising start but things go sideways fast. There are lots if racial issues expressed and explored, especially since the action is happening in Nigeria.

There is quite a bit of action and things tend to happen fast. Despite this, i was unable to connect with the main character therefore my experience with this book was a neutral one.

The story of a man sent into a small Nigerian town to investigate the brutal murders of three students, Kayode’s writing is fast-paced and vivid with detail - lacking in the gratuitous features often included in modern crime novels. Whilst I feel like the final chapters were somewhat rushed, the bittersweet nature of the climax was quite cathartic. This is the sort of book that I can imagine being turned into a movie in several years time.
