The booktok girlies are eating this up which should've been a red flag.

If you're looking for an extremely repetitive insta-love romance with absolutely no plot, this is for you! The only reason this is getting 2 stars rather than just 1 is because the autumnal content (which is maybe 5% of the book) was a whole vibe.

This book was like a hallmark movie...with sex.

“Somewhere along the way, she’d forgotten to figure out who she was or what she wanted to be when she grew up. She’d graduated college all shiny and optimistic about her future with her nose ring intact, and then spent the next seven years having her soul sucked out one ten-hour day at a time.”

“Was that her future? To work and work until her heart just gave out? Gave up? Jeanie had a tendency to overthink. To over-talk. To overwork. She didn’t do rest and relaxation very well. She didn’t do calm or cool. But she was determined to try.”

Such a cute, fun romance that is a quick light read! Don't be fooled by the cover, this isn't a cozy mystery or closed door romance. It is right on par with recent contemporary romances. I really enjoyed it and cannot wait to read the next one!

Synopsis: Jeanie's aunt has given her The Pumpkin Spice Café in Dream Harbor. After working a stressful job in the city and finding her boss dead from a heart attack at his desk, Jeanie is desperate to change her life and her personality.

After a recent bad breakup, the last thing Logan, the local farmer, is looking for is love but then Jeanie in her hedgehog pajama pants enters his life. Logan does his best to not notice Jeanie but no matter how hard he tries, the two of them keep getting pushed together.

Review: If you like Gilmore Girls, you would probably like this book. There are so many similarities that the author had to have gotten ideas from the show.

This is another book that I am embarrassed to admit that I read. For the vast majority of this book, it was a sweet, Hallmark movie-type story. Unfortunately, the last 1.5 hrs of the book turn graphically sexually explicit. Now, if that is your thing, fine, but, personally, I’m not a fan of sexually explicit scenes.

If it weren’t for all that, I probably would have rated this book higher. Now, to be fair, when I put this book on hold with Libby, I didn't realize it was a romance. I didn't pay attention & that was my fault. I am not a fan of romance but I decided to give it a chance anyway. Basically, if you are just dying for a cozy, autumnal, Hallmark-style romance but don’t like the open-door romance, I’d recommend looking for another book.

Tropes: sunny vs grumpy, small town, found family, spicy, happy ending, forced proximity, love at first sight, fall/autumn vibes, emotional scars, country boy/city girl, protective community

Content warnings: profanity, sexually explicit scenes, abandonment

I enjoyed this one! It was cute and cozy and perfect for Fall! I’m looking forward to the other books in the series!! I gave it 4.5 stars instead of five because I felt like vomit was mentioned entirely too often for a cozy romance, it just felt unnecessary
