Reading this for the second time to get refreshed for book three since it had ended on a cliffhanger gave me a totally different perspective on this story. While I am not as unhappy with how the story ended because I have the third book in my hands after that whopper of a cliffhanger in this book. Even without that, I found myself falling in deeper with the story even though it was a rehashing of the past of what had brought Delilah to Maverick and how something tragic was mirroring a past event.

I am not sure if it is just because I have gotten so familiar with this author and her writing style or if I just had more clarity but the second time reading had even more impact. There are still some scenes that broke my heart but I found hope within these pages and that is just another testament to this amazing author. I am changing my ranking to 4.5 stars now from a 4.

I cannot wait to sink my teeth into book three. That cliffhanger is BRUTAL.

4 stars

This author delicately handles a very serious situation. I appreciated that. I enjoyed many parts of this story. However, I'm frustrated that even after two books it is ending at pretty much the same point of the story. It's backstory and different perspectives of the same story. I need a resolution.

That being said, the author still manages to keep me engaged. Hopefully, the conclusion finally comes in book three since this one ended on a cliffhanger again.

Wow! I was left speechless, to say the least. The warning of possible triggers had me cautiously reading, not quite knowing what to expect. The emotion, the pure emotion this book evokes is rare in books these days. This is sort of a rewind to better understand what happened and why in the first book Steal Me. It was very emotional for me, I always cry with her books ,but this one had me sobbing, ugly crying and took me about 10 min before I could calm myself down kind of crying.

There is a scene that is very intense, and graphic, but done in a way that it hits you in the gut. While those triggers wouldn't pertain to me, it made me think of someone very close to me that found herself in a similar situation, so for me it hit me a bit harder.

The friendships, the love, the true love, the heartbreak. All of it amazingly beautiful. As with all her characters you become emotionally invested in them. They laugh, you laugh. They hurt, you hurt. My emotions were all over the place. Then the last chapter, brings you back the (freaking.... Grrr) Cliffhanger. I found myself in my car yelling, No, no. Please no! To being relieved, only to be left with another and a blow your mind on at that. Like you have to go back to read it a couple of times, and find yourself saying WHAT??? Wait a minute!! That kind of cliff hanger. Now we wait for The next one, Bleed Me. Bottom line? Amazing story, real characters and special relationships that have you wanting more.

So good

So freaking good. This is from the female characters point of view. And it’s amazing. So many questions were answered. But that ending!! Oh my gosh. Cannot wait for the next book.

Another knockout book from India R. Adams! Scar Me is book 2 in the Haunted Roads series. In this book, we get the story of Maverick and Delilah from Delilah’s POV. Delilah finally reveals the true nature of her relationship with Kenny and in the process, we finally learn about Kenny. Scar Me is full of truth bombs and secrets revealed that really hooked me. We learn more about Diesel and the Redemption Riders, as well as meeting the mysterious Artist. I loved how protective and caring Diesel was with Delilah. Seeing a badass biker being so open and caring with Delilah and Viola was awesome (for lack of a better word). This book was full of Delilah’s pain and guilt. And we see how the repercussions of her mother’s loss effected Delilah’s decisions. She’s a nurturer and we see this throughout the entire book.

Once again, India R. Adams left the reader hanging after revealing a major secret. I can’t say enough good things about this book. It’s emotional and painful, but also shows the redemptive power of love. I look forward to Bleed Me. I highly recommend this book!

“Scarred. Irrevocable marked, seared. Someone leaving such a fingerprint on my soul that I have forever been labeled his.”

India!!! Oh, man. I need to find where this author lives so I can throw an egg at her house.
HOW COULD SHE DO THIS TO ME?!
What an ending. Oh. My. God!! #INeedBleedMe
I can’t think clearly right now. I just don’t know what to even say.

Let me back it up a bit.
This book was a hard read. The way India was able to transport me into Delilah’s life, AS DELILAH HERSELF—was truly amazing. It was so bittersweet.
To experience life through Delilah’s young and inexperienced eyes was beautiful. To experience the horror’s she had to silently deal with were heart shattering.
There were moments where my leg wouldn’t stop shaking, because even know we kind of know what happened to Delilah in Steal Me, we didn’t get the in-depth story we do now.
And, what a story our Delilah had to share.
I can’t even explain how many times this author shattered my heart. I wanted to scream so much. I wanted my voice heard unlike Delilah had the ability to do.

I loved seeing Maverick through different eyes. I fell more and more in love with him. You truly get to understand MORE how these two beings are, and forever will be, soulmates. That’s not to say I didn’t want to kick him in the nuts a few times, because I did, lol.

There were new characters introduced in Scar Me that had me swooning at all the right moments. As well as our resident Haunted Roads characters.
This book was just pure perfection. Not only did India R Adams have me consumed by main characters, but also begging and begging for more info and books from the many side characters introduced.
A FOREVER FAVORITE GOING IN THE PILE.
