I preferred Liz & Mollie's more recent title, Big Feelings, but this was also a really compelling read! I'd definitely read anything they put out next.

An illustrated guide to embracing emotions while at work in a professional way to feel more authentic and fulfilled. There is focus on the individual (through health, motivation, and decision making), teams, culture, and leadership.

An amazing (and hilarious!) resource on how to understand and make use of emotions in the workplace. There is a TON of information in this book, so I plan on coming back to it (as well as reading some of the other books that were mentioned in the text). This is an absolute must-read if you work with people.

I was recommended this book by a friend and I quite enjoyed it. It was a pretty breezy read - the illustrations are fun and relevant, entertained with easy to read writing and some interesting studies. I don’t think anything suggested in the book was necessarily groundbreaking, but it gave some great examples and options for when you feel emotional at work. My favorite chapter was the chapter on Motivation, which explores the 4 things you need in your job to feel motivated: meaning, autonomy, learning and a good team. One critique that I have is that sometimes I felt that the authors would throw an interesting statistic into the chapter summary, that you found no where else in the chapter. I wouldn’t really call that a summary. This was definitely a broad overview of emotions in the workplace, but a nice and well-reasoned book. I would recommend to others.

This would be a great book for someone who works in a larger office who attends lots of team meetings. My work situation is nothing like that so a lot of the info didn’t apply to me. However I like that the authors have very specific recommendations to help with work relationships.

Close to being a 5. I loved 95% of it. But 5% was cringy enough to where I may not recommend it based on who I’m talking to. It’s very female centric, and as a male, I could see male readers struggle to get through certain sections because it skews heavily female. The concepts are solid for all genders, but the examples, the writing style, even the design and illustrations are all pretty heavily feminine.

I found Liz and Mollie on Instagram/Facebook, and I couldn't wait to read this book. It did not disappoint! They give super helpful advice on how to handle a variety of different situations at work, especially emotionally-charged ones in their trademark style with great illustrations. I highly recommend anyone with a job read this one! It's definitely one I am going to recommend.
