Needed something a little more easier to read for a little bit and this fit the bill perfect!
Actually pretty good to read.
Your typical vampire tryung to find a mate plus baddies plus a lower/higher class system but the Roman brothers are pretty likeable. Taken a liking to Lucian (Luca) - has a very direct way of talking and thinks he's never gonna be the one to be tied down....
.....and I don't think we've seen the last of bronwyn in that respect either!!
Hopefully the series may carry on with the same catchiness or maybe get better. it's always a risk with long pnr series.
But I'll keep optomistic!

New author, first time out. Okay, I am going to try my darnedest here and practice good manners. I do not wish to be harsh, nevertheless the truth of it is ... Eternal Hunger reads as a “good” proposal to a potential story-line that needs to be fleshed out into three dimensions.
Granted, the Roman Brothers are, at first glance, full of dark, brooding, sexy angst (yes, this sounds like a recipe for success), but with deeper inspection they present as flat two dimensional characters with very little anima, or depth. In short, I could not tap into their emotional plight. The book opens with titillating anticipation as two concerning brothers, boots echoing through a cold desolate underground tunnel, argue the mental stability of their eldest; who practices a ritual of self deprecating torture. Yep, you have my attention, but sadly, Ms Wright was not able to capture and mesmerize me with continued skill. The rest of the book was fairly lacking in originality, and scope.
Make no mistake ... I love authors. What they give “us” (the unwashed, lowly masses) is omnipotent. The written word holds a powerful kind of magic that can not be wielded rashly, but must be carefully honed and practiced. Gently coaxed into it’s full strength with profound reverence. For each ingredient: inspiration, tears, laughter, survival, immortality, affirmation, or repudiation -- adds up to an intoxicating drug. To be used recreationally, but not irresponsibly! So ... I do humbly conclude that the “Mark of the Vampire” series would benefit if the author and editor took a second trip with the plot-line and instead of offering the “lean and mean”, go with high caloric, sinfully rich, eight course meal -- starting with dessert.

Good book but not very original plot overall. The twist at the end was a surprise and I like her writing style so I'll eventually read them.....It's just that I already read two series that are remarkably similar to this.

The drama in this book is one big group that wants to change everything about the pure and impure vampires. Alexander and his brothers are given a deadline to deal with the threat. Still, it’s not going to be an easy one, especially since Alexander has become protective of Dr. Sara Donahue.
Overall, the first book in the series receives 4.5 stars from me. I can’t wait to dive into the second book in the series, especially since Laura Wright left me wanting more at the end of this book.
Standalone or Part of Series: It’s part of the series. Each follows a new couple, but the storylines connect. I would recommend reading to get the best reading experience.

Alexander Roman was out hunting blood when the Dawn approached rapidly. He found himself trapped and managed to crawl up the steps to a random person's house before passing out.
Dr. Sara Donohue came back from her shift at the hospital to find a man in front of her house. She dragged him inside and quickly found herself facing one of her former patients who was stalking her. As the stalker tried to kidnap her, Alex recovered enough to save her.
This incident catapulted Sara into the battle between pure and impure blooded vampires.
This book was definitely okay, but it suffered from all the usual issues you expect from 1st in series. I like that it had all the cliche stuff like flying vampires, wiping memories but it had a little different twist with the vampire communities that sounded like cults. The writing was okay as well, I wasn't blown away by the characters or the world building, but I entertained enough to keeping listening to it. I will continue this one
I think Tavia Gilbert did a good job, her voice is much better suited for his series than Night Huntress. I am intrigued by Lucian and Browyn, but I see I will have to wait to book 3 to get sanctification.

There was nothing really wrong with this book, I just think that after reading both BDB and Midnight Breed series, I kinda knew where this was going. Going to carry on with the series to see if it comes into its own. On the plus side it's a quick read.
