I was a child of the space age, and this wonderful read brought back those childhood thrills. Just as good, and just as riveting as Apollo 13.

Kluger's history of the amazing Apollo 8 mission spanned biography, engineering, computer science and geopolitics. It was enormously absorbing, and I barely noticed time passing as I read. I can cheerfully recommend it!

The details here are wonderful and the overall mixture of science, humanity, atmosphere and adrenaline is right on point. One of the better books about the Apollo era. I love the imagery of Frank Borman and his crew making their way to the moon and back.

It follows a story i have never heard before. I enjoyed learning more about the early stages of the space program and just how intense it was. The writing style was simple to read, and was put in terms someone that doesn't know that world vould understand.

Detailed and fascinating account of the more "obscure" Moon mission.
