tarah dewitt literally never does anything wrong like she is just so magnificent. this is excellence. she is excellent and if you haven't gotten into it, into her, yet you need to right this wrong NOW.

like tait, i tend to let go of things too easily. sometimes it's okay to hold a grudge until you receive closer. it's okay to demand answers and have someone answer for the hurt they've given you. make them acknowledge and understand exactly what they did. seeing her grow up as late as being twenty-eight (hi, i'm twenty-six) and learn these parts fo myself make me feel so much better about my willingness to sweep things under the rug, to make things easier for people even when it isn't easy for me.

fuck that!!!!! make noise!!!!! make space for yourself!!!!! make yourself comfortable!!!! be the main character and prioritize yourself!!!!!!

First of all...my heart is officially melted, second of all...the fact that this was Tarah Dewitt's debut novel is blowing my mind because it is just incredible. I found found a new auto-read author and am so excited to dive in to the rest of her books!!

The way she writes is so incredibly descriptive and filled with so much depth and emotion, I was immediately sucked in to these character's lives, finding bits and pieces from each one of them that I could relate to and finding healing within their own journeys. With consummate skill, she transports readers to a picturesque ranch in the heart of Idaho, painting a cozy world that comes alive with every word. This is all on top of delivering some seriously hilarious lines that will make you snort laugh out loud.

Readers meet Tait, a stubborn, fiercely independent character grappling with post-divorce disorientation and a deep sense of unfulfillment. Her longing for a stable family unit resonates deeply with those who have felt the same. Her serendipitous journey to her estranged father's ranch sets the stage for her encounter with Henry, a cowboy with a heart of gold. Henry, too, bears scars from his past and grapples with his own sense of belonging. Through alternating POV's, Tarah Dewitt guides us through their journeys of self-discovery and self-acceptance, revealing the power of vulnerability and trust after profound heartbreak, which is guaranteed to move you to tears.

Tarah Dewitt possesses a unique gift for delivering raw, unfiltered emotion, peppered with delightful banter that adds levity to her narrative. Her characters are wonderfully fleshed out, offering something for every type of reader to relate to. Tait and Henry's tale serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of family, whether by blood or by choice, and the complex shades of gray that define our decisions.

This is a heartwarming, slow-burn romance that will leave you feeling all the warm and fuzzies!
