(This is a review of the whole series)

It's my third gay thriller I read in a row (in less than 2 weeks time), probably not the best idea.  Because of that I was not overly sold on this series at the very beginning, I felt it was a bit weak in comparison to the other ones. But it grew on me!

I'm very much a characters' person, If I like the people, the plot doesn't matter that much to me (I'm not saying it was bad, though!). And I love Levi and Dom, I was afraid that it would be a poorly executed 'enemies-to-lovers' trope, except they weren't really enemies, but no, fortunately it was not that. The characters were not flat, had their issues, and struggled with them.  They felt very human.

The plot was also interesting, the identity of the serial killer was a mystery to me until it was revealed to Levi himself (again, I would make a crappy cop lol). I really liked how realistic this series was, e.g.  the characters were taken to hospital after being injured, like they should (n so many books/film like this the main character falls from the 5th floor and is fine, which is one of the biggest icks of mine).

I'm usually not a fan of dual POV but since I liked both of the characters I didn't mind it here.

The only thing, or two things, that made me give this book 4.5 stars are: one, describing every little detail (example: I opened the door, I stepped inside, I closed the door and turned the lock), and two, related to that, the extremely detailed fight scenes. I get that the author practices Krav Maga herself, and is probably super excited about it, but by book 5 I was skipping most of the fighting because I was just bored.

Overall a very good series!

Seventh time's a charm.

The chemistry here. A character who is into Krav Maga?! Levi is great, and Dominic is a great hulking puppy. I love the dynamic.

The killer seems pretty obvious right now, so I hope I'm wrong. But I'm hooked on the men, so full speed ahead.

Levi is a cop with killer cheekbones and an ice cold deminor. His relationship with his billionaire boyfriend is on the rocks and a new serial killer is on the loose, one that knows him personally.

Dominic is a great hulking puppy of a man with a mind like a steel trap. A retired Army Ranger turned Bounty Hunter and Bouncer at the local gay bar. He loves Levi's looks but can't get past his cold exterior until he takes a blow to the head protecting him.

Can the two of them catch the Seven of Spades before they strike again?
