I loved every single Bradford Sisters novel by Becky Wade. Sweet on You, the final installment of the series, is no exception. In many ways, this is my favorite book of the series. Why did it take me five years to get to this book? Because I have a problem. When I love a series so much, as I do this one, I have a very difficult time saying goodbye. I know. I know. That sounds crazy. It is crazy. I mean, I could just re-read all the books. But there is something that physically and mentally holds me back from saying goodbye to fictional characters I’ve grown to really love and admire. The real reason I didn’t want to say goodbye to this series is because of Zander. I have loved his character from book 1 and have been rooting for him to get his girl the whole time. Zander does not disappoint in Sweet on You. He is the perfect hero: he is an observant, kind, considerate man who deeply feels and has an active servant-heart. And, yes he is beyond handsome. He’s also brooding, serious, and introverted. There is something swoony about a man who is uber manly, but who needs and deserves a good hug. Zander needed like 100 hugs over the course of this story. The way he stands by Britt even though it tears his heart to pieces to just be friends…yeah, Zander needed a lot of hugs in this story! Britt…she was the sister I least wanted to read. I struggle with the youngest child. They tend to be immensely self-focused, which Britt totally is. Because I have such a soft-spot for Zander I dreaded spending days reading all the ways Britt would unknowingly — because main characters rarely really talk in romances — wreak havoc on Zander’s brutalized and damaged heart. But Britt’s character arc is actually quite superb, and while she is self-focused for a lot of the novel, her journey was well worth taking with her. While I basically loved everything about this story, I would have to say my most favorite aspect is the mystery and suspense. I had so much fun trying to figure out the whodunnit. There were quite a few twists and turns that I didn’t always see coming. It definitely made the pages fly by!

Sweet on You is an excellent Contemporary Romance AND Romantic Suspense. I enjoyed both elements of the story immensely. I will totally miss my time with the Bradford sisters, but truly loved every minute spent with this unique and spunky family. If you’ve not yet read this book, then I highly, highly recommend getting your hands on a copy ASAP!

I purchased a copy of this novel in eBook form fromAmazon.com on April 29, 2019. I am under no obligation to leave a positive review. The opinions expressed in this review are my own.

I have to admit that I’m a bit sad to write this review because it means the Bradford Sisters Series has concluded. * Insert sobbing * BUT! What a grand finale it was! Sweet on You was everything fabulous and get ready for my intense gushing.

There are so many things to love about this novel that I’m not exactly sure where to begin. But here goes. As a chocolate enthusiast I adored that Britt owned a chocolate shop called Sweet Art. This book should really come with a disclaimer stating: Beware - reading this novel will cause extreme chocolate cravings. Because sure enough, I wasn’t halfway into the story before I donned my chef hat and whipped up some sweet treats.

Another thing I adored about this story is Britt’s character arc. At first glance, she appears a bit on the shallow side, but as the story progresses the undertones of her actions revealed to me her depths. Her layers became visible. I would venture to say that I’ve never seen as much growth and maturity develop in this author’s heroines than what’s accomplished in Britt. Her “aha moment” was powerful and moving.

I can’t conclude this review without mentioning Zander. His steadfast love for Britt, even knowing it was unrequited, reminded me a lot of Christ’s love for us. It’s constant. Unchanging no matter how we act. Zander’s protective nature, amusing wit, and his steady admiration for Britt was endearing.

Combine all these factors with an intriguing mystery and you have one stellar story. While I’m still sad this series has come to an end, I can’t help but be excited for what this author will bring to the table next!

*I was given a copy by the author. All opinions are my own.

A sweet chaste Christian romance with between a woman who is so fiercely independent that she's actually difficult to love and the man who loves her anyway despite wanting to not hurt anymore.

What joy! I love that a bit of mystery was woven into this story... Even though some of it was predictable, it still made for a fun read. I'm sad to be done with these characters (book mourning!) but to find out this week that these are being made into movies is an extra blessing! It'll be lovely to revisit these sisters!

Britt's story was very good. I think her issues with being in control and not being perceived as weak are very much something others can relate to. But it was honestly getting annoying me. I kept saying in my head "just cry!".

I'm not sure Zander's obsession (well, it was) with Britt is healthy. It was like "if I can't have her then life isn't worth living." Their whole story was incredibly NOT realistic. And I think it detracted from the story.

Sadly, this was my least favorite book in the series. I had a difficult time connecting with the main characters, especially with Britt who annoyed me most of the book. I loved the mystery storyline but was disappointed at how quickly and neatly it all wrapped up in the end. I enjoyed reading about all of the characters that I’ve come to know and love in this series and am sad to see the series end. The Bradford family is a bookish family I will probably never forget. This book, just like the others in this series, had a beautiful message. Highly recommend the entire series.

My rating: 4 out of 5 stars

After reading "True to You," and "Falling for You," I was really excited to read "Sweet on You," because I knew it would feature Britt and Zander's loves story.

Britt and Zander's story ended up being a really bittersweet story (pun intended lol). Zander's love for Britt was so strong, while Britt took a long time to finally see what she had in front of her. I think their love was worth the wait, though.
Out of all 3 couples in the Bradford Sisters romance series, Britt and Zander have the most chemistry, probably because they know each other so well. There were quite a few scenes that made me swoon!

As for the characters themselves I liked both of them and enjoyed getting to know them better. Of the two I relate to Zander the most. Like me, he's introverted, cautious, and prefers quality one-on-one time over large group gatherings. I also sympathized with Zander's relationship with God. Throughout the story, Zander was just going through the motions, but didn't feel a connection to God, due in a large part to some unanswered prayers in his life.
I also found it easy to sympathize with the other main character, Britt. On the one hand Britt is a fun loving, adrenaline junkie and on the other hand she is a stubborn lady set on keep others at a distance. I loved seeing her finally become vulnerable and admit that she needs to rely on God for support and that she needs other to help her out sometimes.

The romance, the faith filled content, and the mystery made this book an enjoyable read.

The only thing I didn't enjoy was how much kissing and sometimes making out there was. This is a Christian romance novel, so I was a little disappointed with how descriptive and lengthy some of the kissing parts were. I wish the author had not included them in the story :(

Oh my goodness! This book was absolutely wonderful! Where do I even begin?

I've watched Zander's intense devotion to best friend Britt and her complete ignorance of his love for her since the very first book. I've been rooting for them, wanting to shake Britt and force her to see the wonderful man standing right in front of her. I've been so anxious for this book, y'all. I expected it to be great, but it far exceeded my already high expectations. It was everything I was hoping for and so much more.

There were some twists and turns that I was not expecting which I totally loved. The mystery element was superb and definitely kept me on my toes. And I was so happy that Grandma was back, just as feisty and opinionated as ever.

Sweet on You is one of the best contemporary romances I've read and my favorite “friends to lovers” one, for sure. I'd highly recommend this book to everyone. It's awesome! It can totally standalone, but I'd still recommend starting with the first one. This whole series has been excellent. And what a conclusion!

I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. All thoughts and comments are my honest opinion.
