My favourite character is Scarlett . I love her personality. However I am most similar to Ivy and her personality.

The Lost Twin by Sophie Cleverly is a young adult novel. Scarlet Grey, Ivy’s twin sister, was attending the Rookwood School. Ivy was told that Scarlet died, but Ivy has her doubts. Then Ivy receives a notice that she is going to attend the school. Ivy is not given a choice. Miss Guinevere Fox is the headmistress. She informs Ivy that she is to take her sister’s place (literally). She will answer to the name Scarlet and should act like her. Ivy is reluctant to do it, but she decides it will give her an opportunity to find out what really happened to Scarlet. Ivy settles into life at Rookwood and starts looking for answers. Ivy discovers that Scarlet did leave something behind. There are clues that lead her to her sister’s journal. Pages of the journal are hidden all around the school. Ivy just needs to follow the clues to find the pages hidden locations. Some of them are tricky and hard to get to, but when one is determined, nothing is impossible. Can Ivy find out what happened to Scarlet? Is there a chance that Scarlet is still alive? You will have to read The Lost Twin to find out!
The Lost Twin is a short book (shorter than most books). It does have a good pace and is easy to read. The writing is satisfactory and the mystery is interesting. I liked how Ivy followed Scarlet’s clues and the clues were intriguing. I give The Lost Twin 3.5 out of 5 stars. The one thing that I did not like was the ending. I found the ending to be abrupt (it happened to quickly) and unsatisfactory. The book is left unfinished, and we have to wait for the next novel (like the cliffhanger on a television shows season finale) to come out (extremely frustrating). I am not sure yet if I will read the next book or not. I will wait and see what it is about and then make my decision. While this book is geared towards young adults, I believe older readers will enjoy The Lost Twin as well.
I received a complimentary copy of The Lost Twin from NetGalley (thanks to the publisher) in exchange for an honest evaluation.

I started with such high hopes for this story but over time it just became a bit dull, however I did enjoy the setting of the story and some of the characters so I thought I'd rate it a bit higher than I normally would for a book I didn't like.

I've been eyeing this book, the entire series actually, for quite some time already and when I discovered the website Books2Door I saw that I could get the entire series for a really nice price. And when the books got in I was even more excited to get started! I really love some middle grades once in a while. They are usually quite different reads from my other reads and if they're well done they can be equally as touching.
And in my opinion this was a middle grade like middle grades should be. It had a perfect amount of everything! It had an exciting story with loads of action, loads of scary moments, but also loads of laughter and pieces of the puzzle always being released at the right moment. The book got never boring, but it also never felt like it was going too fast, apart from the last chapter, maybe. I would have loved a little more detailed description of all that!
On top of that it also had a really nice setting. I remember that I really loved boarding school stories especially for all the things that also came back in this story. There was a mystery to solve, there was an evil teacher (and a nice one), there were sports classes, there was some rivalry between classmates, there were epic friendships and there were loads of amazing locations to discover, which we all got to explore thanks to the mystery!
And last but not least: We had a lovely heroine, and an even more amazing best friend, to guide us through the story and the epic location. I really loved Ivy and her struggles, especially all those moments she was wondering if she was just getting good at being Scarlet or really becoming her. I personally found Ivy likable and, even more, she had the right balance between daring to do things to help move the plot forward, without becoming so reckless that it would become unbelievable that she would be able to make it.
After the last chapter I'm really excited to read the rest of the series!
