This book is definitely slow and was a struggle to get through, though the end of the book in pike the last 40 pages was a lot more fast paced and easier to read. Just wish I didn't get bored because of how slow the plot was.

The beginning of the book moved a little slow for me, but once I got past that, I loved it. Full of adventure, cunning characters, and mysterious environments the events of the plot continued to entertain me and keep me enthralled. I do feel that the ending was a little rushed and over explained some things that could have been part of other sections of the book; however, I will definitely be purchasing the next book as soon as it comes out!

The concept for this was really cool and I liked it a lot. But the terms and descriptive words in this were odd and sounded juvenile. The names of the different realms were very basic and didn’t fit with the magic of the story. It just could’ve been so much better. I was entertained and I’ll probably read the next one. But it wasn’t anything that’ll stick with me.

This book has redefined what makes a one star read for me.

I'm not even exaggerating. There are books I read while struggling through this that I would have given one star were it not for the lurking knowledge that no matter how much I didn't like them, they were still incomparably better than Lightlark.

I do not recommend this book to anyone. Not even for a hate read. It's not worth it.
