Sometimes I read a text from a discipline I’m not in, and it’s so affirming. Like, this made me so secure in the fact that I’m not an anthropologist.

There’s some really interesting stuff in here, but it’s a bit of a slog to get to and also to read. Interestingly, in the conclusion Pink says this is a pretty unusual approach, which is funny bc this is exactly what I’d expect from anthropology. Like it makes a lot of sense to turn that research into this. I wouldn’t, but I wouldn’t be doing it in the first place. I’d just speculate on the concept of houses instead, and all my examples would be books and vibes. Which quite possibly would be judged as worse research, I admit! But quite possibly would also be more readable. A little more zany in my capacity to speculate.
