This short novel was very creative, but I felt the execution was lacking. I was confused from beginning to end. The few times the author made an effort to provide some world building/background, it was done through dialogue, which was all telling and no showing. I can say that I have never read anything like this, but I think the deeper (intended?) analysis of addiction became muddled in a confusing plot and poorly established world.
