I'm so very happy right now! bursting with inordinate amounts of joy!

So... This is what a happy surprise feels like.

I like the new rats, Zenzele and German Thor are my favorite, and the angry native american -I'm really terrible with names, aren't I?- seems interesting. I low-key hope he and Zenzele become a thing.

The last issue was more than I could ever hope. I will forever miss and love Billy more than any other rat.

3.5 / a refined status quo with same setting, mainly different cast of characters is a struggle for many comics. This one *almost* got it right, but compared to our old friends....thus its earning points are Saya's struggles with ethics and the ending. I'm still hopeful though, as I've come to love this series

This was a slow beat, given that it has to start sophomore year after a truly wild, chaotic, and violent end to freshman year. New characters are introduced, new roles are established, and new pace has to uncover itself. It also doesn't shake, rattle, and roll the way it did with Marcus as narrator. His way of breaking things down amid making increasingly bad decisions made for a comic book you could hear. But, my goodness, what an end.

After the events in volume 4, pace wise, this was a slow down and a chance to introduce new characters. Towards the end it began to pick up.
