One of the odder stories I've read in awhile. Entertaining for sure and a concept which I took with flippant seriousness. It did, I suppose, make me consider a perspective/underside I wouldn't have otherwise. Mostly, though, I genuinely laughed and enjoyed the quest.

What an odd little story. It was pretty strong for the first two-thirds and then just fell apart, suddenly introducing different POVs and jumping around to different characters. I liked the writing style until then, though.

I'm glad I stuck with this inventive, but sometimes frustrating book. The novel and its plot are meaty (sorry), wild and passionate. Its characters, less so. But by the end, I realized this book is one that will stick with me, faults and all.

Better than expected but low expectations. A fun plot and tone, but not such as easy read that a day spent reading most of the book in order to return it to the library on time passed in a breeze (though I did finish!).
