I hate Richard and I hate this story. I was really looking forward to Iris’s story, ‘cause I thought she was an interesting character in the previous books with how witty and sarcastic she was portrayed but Quinn really did her wrong in this book. If I had read this as an actual physical book I would’ve dnf-ed it.
Thing I hate most of all is how Richard practically forced himself on her all so that she’d have to marry him and her ending up getting all the blame for it and this was all just glossed over and fixed with some stupid ass i love you and a some spice. ugh.

The longest miscommunication/secret keeping in Julia Quinn history. At one point I truly wanted to throw my phone, but honestly it was still entertaining and had a good ending.

Im often really irritated by the male leads in these books but damn this man made me want to scream almost the entire time i read this. The audacity of man is rampant.

Iris was nice but I have never hated a man as much as I hate Richard. There isn’t a single thing that he could have done to make up for what he did to her and everyone involved. I don’t care if he loves her. He’s a terrible human being. He joins Benedict Bridgerton on the list of unlikeable Quinn bastards. I spent the last third of the book just being pissed off. I am rating this as high as a three because I love Quinn’s writing style and I had to stay to the end to find out what happened but this isn’t what I would consider a happy ending
