This book is one of the best high school sweetheart romances I have ever read and I didn’t think anything could top the first book in this series. 🤯 This was simply divine. It was so similar to my life that it felt so real aside from the insane wealth which is handled with such grace that this book was one of the most secure romances I’ve read in a long time.  I will forever thing of this love story when I see lipstick kisses. 💋🥹😍

The character development in this book is astounding. How did I go from being annoyed by both protagonists in the beginning to falling in love with them only a few chapters in? Their individual voices were so clear that it was easy to see them exactly as they were, which allowed me to witness firsthand their growth both introspectively and as members of society.

This is more than a story of young love. It is a story of acceptance and introspection and learning to create your own boundaries and your own moral compass. Wren, in particular, demonstrated beautifully how a person can take the standards and rules that have been engrained in them and, by giving the people around them the chance to be open with them, use them, reflect upon them and, ultimately, make better decisions that more positively affect not just you but the people around you. Wren’s journey from a naive, judgemental and conservative daughter to an independent, free-thinking and, most of all, accepting woman is truly beautiful.

In other news,
who spends $1.2 million on their girlfriend of like three weeks?! How much was in Crew’s first trust fund?!

Still dark like the others in this series but this was oddly romantic and I loved how we find out what the namesake of the book is and it’s story behind it.

The development of the romance was lovely too, acquaintances to lovers per se but written impeccably so I cannot fault it.  Wren and crew deserved their happy ending and I’m glad they got it

Welcome back to Lancaster Prep, where Crew Lancaster rules the school, and Wren is just an innocent little birdie flitting about.

This is the second book in the Lancaster Prep series, and while there are some steamy scenes, they don't come close to Things I Wanted to Say. It does, however, follow the true love with heartache theme from the first book.

A Million Kisses is an addictive read with characters that seem unrealistic and are in unrealistic relationships, but Monica Murphy makes the read a guilty pleasure.

realizing i start every romance book review with “this had some issues but i liked it” but,,, it’s true! the beginning of the book is filled with lots of misogyny—from both girl and boy characters—but i found that as there became less of it i started to enjoy it a lot more.
there is one line tho which is after they’ve had sex where wren says that she should hate how archaic/misogynist crew’s “i own you/you belong to me” mentally is but she loves it which . i feel like if you’re going to acknowledge that that sentiment is gross, you shouldn’t say it? just a small qualm i was shaking my head after i read that.
but yeah . a lot of these books lean into those stereotypes for men (and honestly men are like that in the real world even if they hide it!) so it’s just something i accept when reading romance books 😭 and hopefully no impressionable teenagers are thinking it’s okay to act like that,,,, okay anyways! this couple is great, if you’re looking for a story that’s filled with complete devotion and just a really cute and loving relationship, read this! also enjoyed how the 3rd act conflict didn’t lead to a stupid breakup, i think these characters were actually pretty mature for their ages? also really loved how wren coming into herself was written and fleshed out. it felt like it was really empowering for her!
