I won this in a Giveaway on Storygraph.

It gave me what I was expecting so I had a good time! 4/5 🌶

It's smut with a wannabe plot. It is a ROMANCE book, not Romantasy. The smut is well written and the consent is clear which is extremely rare and the men asked multiple times even outside of sex.

The 3 guys have different personalities which is again rare but was refreshing. They are all teddy bears and rationales. No one syllable guys here to be found!!

The way the shifter's world works is really interesting. I would have loved to see more of it. The communication? The fact they talk to each other? Miracle! What's the treaty mentioned between shifters-humans? I'm so curious. But I knew it was a smutty book and not a Romantasy. So I'm not disappointed. Clearly, you can see that with my review. LOL

Probably going to pick up the first book to see if we learn more about the world otherwise well, at least I would have a fun time. LOL

I'm definitely curious about the author's other works.

This really gave me a throwback to why I fell in love with reading shifter books in the first place.

Read while I had brain fog and still thoroughly enjoyed every page.

I’m happy it was a complete story despite being an introduction to the world. Would have hated if it ended on a cliffhanger.
I might actually pick up the next novel.

For such a short little book, it packs a surprisingly complex story. I really feel as though I got to know Jasmine and her mates and read through to their satisfying HEA.

I won this book in the Storygraphs raffle so I think I owe it a review. A fair review, too. My rating is less against my entire collection of reviews but rather this particular type of book. Truth be told I do not read spicy/smut books in my reading life aside from cackling at Fifty Shades, they just don’t do much for me, but I also think the genre gets an undeserved bad rap. There is a lot of cliches and whatnot present in the genre but honestly I’d like to see anybody who complains about how awful these books are write a sex scene with decent pacing and evidence of spatial awareness. Not as easy as it sounds! I think people just hate to see women writing literature predominantly for women.

That being said this is absolutely fine for its genre and the 2.75 rating it has right now honestly seems a bit harsh in my opinion. It’s a novella so obviously we aren’t spending a lot of time fleshing out plot, but as somebody who has never read any shifter romance I was honestly just interested in how this world worked. For example it is mentioned that in the year 1877 there was a North American truth between humans and supernatural species—I absolutely need to know more about that. Is that a complete US/Canadian/Central American agreement? Do those nations exist in this world? How are pack territories recognized, do they function like Native reservations in regards to governance? I want to know but unfortunately there is no time for that, our protagonist Jasmine has three sexy wolf shifters to be snowed in with!

That being said I do actually like the emphasis on consent and I think our author Traci Lovelot (excellent name btw) is completely right by writing a “Why Choose?” Series. Cause like, honestly, why choose! These are wolf shifters in an erotica novel and why shouldn’t they be living their polyamorous best life?

Character-wise, I liked the characters just fine. They were not groundbreaking in personality or diversity but I didn’t really dislike any of them either, they are ultimately intended to be vehicles for this story and erotic scenes so that is fine for what it is. The parents of Gabriel, Garret, and Grayson are definitely crazy though because my parents can't even handle me and my sister's name starting with the same letter, they call us the wrong thing all the time. God forbid it was three of us.

Definitely was confused by some of the teasing of a sequel? Spinoff?  Series? Not totally sure but you know I paid zero dollars and I got my light entertainment sitting down and reading this between things, so hey, worth the price of admission for me. If you are into shifter erotica and the like then give it a read, you’ll probably like it! As for me, I don’t think I’ll be investigating any further unless I happen to win another giveaway, in which case, I’ll be there Ms. Lovelot 🫡

I won this novella in a giveaway on StoryGraph. Not having read anything by this author previously, I didn't really know what to expect.

It is a werewolf why choose story, with FMC Jasmine finding herself mysteriously drawn to the three MMCs, brothers Grayson, Garrett, and Gabriel, when they are all trapped together in a snowstorm. Jasmine’s twin sister makes a few appearances and she is generally annoying.

For only 94 pages the author works in quite a bit of tension and drama! Some plot points are a bit rushed and others seem pretty obviously geared toward setting up a sequel of some kind. It did make me curious about these other characters and their stories.

There are really only the four main characters and they all are white, cis gendered, able bodied and normative in just about every way. So no diverse representation.

The spice is spicy, with lots of emphasis on consent. The “pairings” are FMM and FMMM. Nothing happens between the brothers except a mutual focus on pleasing Jasmine, often simultaneously. 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

Overall, I would say if you are looking for a fast little read to, um…warm you up…then give this a try. Keep in mind that it is a novella so there is not a lot of character development or even that much plot. It was enough of a teaser that I will likely try the novels set in this same universe.
