A nice paranormal anthology. The stories were nothing remarkable, but still I liked most of them.

Nearly all of the stories in this book are based in, and around Halloween. The majority of them are urban with the acceptation of A Night of Forever by Lori Brighton, which is set in 1859. The majority of the stories feature characters from the authors’ others books. Sometimes this can mean the reader does not understand what is going on, or is unable to develop any bond to these characters. This was true for me in a couple of these stories (Allison Brennan’s Ghostly Justice, Jennifer Estep’s Halloween Frost). On the other hand featuring characters from certain stories can also draw in readers (Edie Ramer’s The Fat Cat, Dale Mayer’s Sian’s Solution).

All of the stories have a female leads, and a main man who is attracted to her. The problem was the man or woman fights whatever is after them, usually connected to Halloween, The Blood Moon, or Paranormal woo-woos so much that the stories started to feel the same. There are some stories that held some neat ideas that stood a part like, Nancy Haddock’s Medium Rare, was an all-out ghost battle.

There are a lot of vampires, werewolves and witches. Some of my favorite out of these were, Dale Mayer’s Sian’s Solution, and Liz Kreger’s Feel the Magic. Sian’s Solution has vampires and humans living apart, relationships between the two are looked down upon. Sian must save her man from not being a blood donor. Feel the Magic is about Jenna who has been contracted to turn a woman into a cat. Both put interesting spins on the usual Urban Fantasy world. My favorite is Dale Mayer’s The Fat Cat, about a witch whose cat can speak to her.

Some stories didn’t do it for me, or I thought were too long for the point they were trying to make. One of those was Allison Brennan’s Ghostly Justice which featured a couple trying to discover who was murdering people. It felt like the couple kept chatting about the past just to inform the readers of the past, and it made me feel a little lost. This is also true in Jennifer Estep’s Halloween Frost, the story feels more like an event inside of the novels instead of a standalone story.

There are more than a few stories in this book that set me on new (to me) authors. It is also nice that this book is for a good cause, breast cancer. Out of eleven stories there were only four I didn’t care for, and the rest I would rate a three or higher. That is really good for a book like this. It is also a good book to get into the Halloween mood.

A large collection of short stories so something for everyone. Bought mainly for the Cynthia Eden and Allison Brennan stories which didn't disappoint.

A delightful anthology. I had read books npby only one author included in this anthology before picking up Entangled. In fact I purchased it because of the Allison Brennan novella. Now I want to read the books by all the other authors. Some of the stories seem to be jumping off points pr continuation points for other series, but when I looked at the author pages there were no other related stories to the ones included in the anthology. This makes me sad. I hope they continue the stories they included in this anthology.

I am currently looking forward to reading works by all of the authors who contributed.
