The Atlantis Complex by Eoin Colfer

Disappointed by this installment. Eoin Colfer is too good to stoop to "fairy" misrepresentations of and outdated terms for a mental illness. This book took forever to get going and then all the action was crammed into 30 pages at the end with an abrupt climax. I might be willing to forgive that in the first of a series, but the penultimate book? No.

I liked this one quite a bit probably because it was a bit different than the others and anything to do with psychology makes it better in my opinion.

Hmmm. As I keep on reading books in this series, my opinion about which is the best changes. This is the best one in the series! Yet. I really really loved it! And the fact that I read it for an average of an hour a day during my final exam just proves it. Go on, read it, guys!

SPOILERISH:
The only reason this doesn't get a four is because Colfer creates a new way to control someone along with the mesmer. The mesmer of course already existed but it had not been so successfully used. Mostly just because of, the ruins though...

Ok. Weird. Confusing.

Maybe I'm burnt out from Artemis Fowl books since I've been binging the series, but this book and the last just haven't been as good as I expected. Some interesting plot devices, but also ultimately anti-climactic. I'll take a break from this series before coming back to finish book #8.
