Whoaaa, what a very long synopsis this book have! Aside of that, this book covers love, heartbreak, healing and growing up. I find it very interesting because a school has a break up support group, but it's a very nice idea. Overall, it's a very interesting read, but at the same time also very predictable.

In a nutshell this read is cute, predictable...and leaves you wanting your own support group.

In a little more detail, for some reason the pronunciation guide Isla gives for others stayed with me as the funniest part of the story. Totally a strange thing to stay with you, but for me it sums up the book as whole. The story is cute, you know what's going to happen between Isla and Emory...but there are moments (staircase) that stays with them.

The support group folks are amazing, and need their own stories.

First Impression:

I would read anything of Cheyanne Young, she could write it on a paper towel and I would read it because I love her writing, I love her characters and I always lover her stories. This was no different, I really liked the idea of this books, I think a Breakup Support Group sounds amazing, high schools should actually have one. This was a great fun read. So, so cute and I honestly love the cover.

The Story & The Characters:

  • The story was fun and heartbreaking, you really felt for Isla and what she is going through because I am pretty sure we all have been in the same place at some point.

  • Isla was a super cute characters and I really liked how she handled her break up and the steps she took to overcome her heartbreak.

  • Emory was adorable, such a cutie in my head and I loved the chemistry between him and Isla, they seems perfect for each other.

  • I had only wished Isla was able to prove to her ex she was ok, I sort of was hoping for redemption but I am really honestly glad how things worked out for her.

Final Thoughts:

Over all I really enjoyed this book, Cheyanne never disappoints and I love everything she writes. I highly recommend for a cute, fun read about heartache and healing. Fun book for YA's and Adults.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my review.

Have a great day and Happy Reading!

This book was amazing!
I couldn't put it down. Every new event made me have to know what was coming next. Isla's struggles are real, and her friends are so supportive.
The only thing I didn't like: there were a few typos and editing errors toward the last third of the book. But, they were little mistakes and once I figured out why it sounded funny I was able to move on.
I definitely recommend this book! Teens of all kinds - and especially those going through a breakup - need to check this one out!

I think I am too old for this book (?!!). I don’t know!! I couldn’t get into it and I really hoped for some cute high school story where the girl gets over her broken heart without falling for another guy.. It got really irritating when on one hand she was crying over her break up, on the other she is lusting over Emory simultaneously!!

I really enjoyed Cheyanne Young’s The Last Wish of Sasha Cade, so I was really looking forword to this one.. Anyways… This was just not my cup of tea..

I dived into this book without any expectations or previous knowledge, and I can't say I hated it, it was amusing, but I did have some major problems with it. Mainly with the main character. Isla is so unlikeable, I can't even begin to explain it. She's incredibly judgemental, very self centered and insufferable at times. I hate the way she treated the other characters, and she often made a big deal out of things that weren't a big deal. The other characters were alright, but weren't quite memorable and often one dimensional. I thought Emory was okay, but to be fair, I don't understand why anyone would associate themself with Isla in any way.

The writing style is nice though. I might look into more of Young's books, hoping that they're more likeable.

This was a great, easy read that was fun and flirty. It isn’t a particularly new concept in the fact that girl gets dumped, is really upset but then falls in love with another boy. However it was very charming and is really good to read if you are in a reading slump.

This was a lot cuter than I was expecting. It was difficult for me to fully invest myself in the book, but once I got to about the half-way mark, I sped through it. It was fun, heartbreaking, and relatable. The struggle of a first heartbreak was very realistic.

I really liked almost every character. At times, Isla did annoy me, but overall I really liked her. Though frustrating, her feelings toward both Nate and Emory did seem realistic. My favorite character, though, was Bastian. He reminded me a lot of one of my own friends, so it was easy to connect to him.

I was sort of hoping for Isla to get over Nate without another relationship, but I'm still pretty happy with how the book ended. The chemistry between Emory and Isla was amazing, as well as the chemistry between the entire group. I adored watching them become closer and help Isla.

I really liked Young's writing style as well, so I'm definitely going to look into her other works. If you're a fan of young adult novels, I highly suggest reading this one.
