God of Pain features Creighton, a grumpy and quiet brute, gradually broken down by Annika, a happy-go-lucky mafia princess. I just love when these hard, savage men dish out pure violence and control, and then turn around to be the king of aftercare. This book truly is the embodiment of pain from cover to cover; through childhood trauma, forbidden love, betrayal, and via BDSM 😉In this second installment, we see much more tension built between the rivalries and some fiery action that emphasize the forbidden love aspect these couples face.

pain. i felt just pure pain while reading this.

princess annika should’ve aimed in between creigh’s eyes the moment he treated her like shit for something she had no involvement in and happened before she was even born. then i really hated him so bad for putting her in a position of having to choose between her family or him, a guy she’s barely known for like 2 months. like bffr. then he gets mad when she chose her brother! ridiculous.

maybe rk shouldn’t have combined her two worlds… because in what universe is a rich, entitled white guy who peaked as a high school bully supposed to be more intimidating and feared than a man who was bred, born, and raised in, and is one of the important pillars of one of the world’s biggest criminal organizations? that scene between aiden and adrian made me burst out laughing because of how unserious it was. adrian should’ve unalived aiden right then and there.

only one star for adrianlia, jonathanaurora, ethanagnus, jercecy, and nikobran crumbs. thank fuck it’s over !

This book was better than the first . I tolerate Creighton more than Killian.
The shooting drama and the kidnapping to the island, was very chaotic. Made me question everything.

I couldn't get over the age gap. There was consent in this one or at least from what I remember compared to the last one.
A 17 and a 20 year old though? That's just weird and very creepy.
