Very intense volume. Lots of emotions. I have a hard time describing this book cus I speed read it in a week (I was very emotionally invested). Lots of twists and turns!! I thoroughly enjoyed it!

I really hope Shi Qingxuan gets nice things in the next volume… I feel really bad for him.

This volume has a lot of turmoil and some big reveals.  It kind of feels a bit like monster/ghost of the week, intended with tragic backstories and convoluted backstabbing plots.

There's still some wholesome moments between Xie Lian and Hua Cheng but I wouldn't say no to more.

When we start the Black Water Ghost arc in the previous book, I didn't think it was going to be for me. But, honestly, this has been my favorite addition to the story so far. The mutual pining is insane, the toxic side couple sparked a new obsession for me, and I loved the twist at the end! Great times all around, truly cannot wait for the next volume.
