Very entertaining book. Something very different from Colleen’s romance books that I’ve read. It was very eerie and tense at times, which I loved. This might be my second favorite Colleen book I’ve read.

I have no idea if there are spoilers or not, anyway it's more my thoughts than book review...

I didn't know that sometimes seeing a person being good, caring and emotional hurts more than watching him with disgust for being worst, not capable of loving, obsessed, cruel, lying manipulative monster, or villain.

And even after that pain, I experienced from this book end... I still can't believe that human beings can be so cruel. That is why I hurt again and again my heart thinking that she WAS capable of love and she loved, with all her heart and that every breath she took was for them.

 I always do this, YKNW?
I tried to see light, even when there is no chance in dark, that she exists. I still fight my every single breath, heartbeat, my life being to bring the light. Because I'm just not capable to accept that person CAN be bad just from himself. There is always more to the story: parents who fucked up a young kid or tragedy that breaks even the strongest. So for me, no villain is entirely villain.
And I feel bad, I want to rip my heart as this book did, but I feel bad even for the villain from this book. And it's horrible, I can't forgive myself for that.

But again, it would be true if I didn't take a light side of the story, and believed that the villain was just a character from a VERY messed up imagination.
This book... It took me more than other books to write a review.

I could put this book down and I read her so fast as I had never done other book. I was addicted, I was shocked, horrified and sometimes I had to put this book down just to place through, but it didn't last long, because she was a drug, she was bad in so many ways, the relationships were toxic, the characters lied, but damn. It did something...
The plot was shocking, and when I thought that I know everything, that I spoiled it somehow, I understand, that no...The is much more than what I have through and in the end, I doubted even myself...And every character was suspect for me.

Also, I loved little love moments and it gives me butterflies just from looks...to make this strong connection between characters is not easy. It amazed me how much love can be it these glances and you don't even need touch. I believe one character from this book would not agree with me, because to her touch was the only word of love.

The truth is that:

Book is good when you are done reading and can't forget her, she is good when she takes emotions from you, she is good when in the end when you are on the last page and read the words "The end" you feel numb because she ended.

This book ripped my heart and stepped on her with disgust. It hurt, but it made me laugh. I think I'm broken just like this book. Before and even more after.
It is just how one sentence can change the entire plot. But it amazed me as a reader.
Again and again, I can't get enough of this author, because it seems that every book, written by her tears my heart apart, but then again the other comes and does the same. Wow...When I think that fake characters can make me so pathetic, so vulnerable.

And its power, you know, to create a fake world that would look more real than the one where you live... She is powerful.

So now this book...
Without further discussion or explanation, she gets 5⭐.

Spoilers throughout -
I did enjoy this, however I was expecting a big A HAH moment at the end - which never really came for me. The main twist was the unreliable narrator, but this is a mystery where we will never figure out the truth, which leaves it open for the reader’s interpretation. For me, I think she was psychotic, but I’d be interested in hearing why others would think otherwise. I never really grew a connection to the characters, lowen and Jeremy just didn’t really do anything for me and I didn’t really care about what happened to them. I’d been putting off reading this for a while because everyone said it was really scary, and while it was tense and a very creepy I didn’t find it scary - more disturbing. I don’t often read mystery thrillers though and I enjoyed Colleen hoovers simple writing as I always do.
