Objectively very good. An incredibly detailed, intimate, & nuanced exploration of a friendship, of character dynamics. Just not particularly exciting. Also there are so many characters and it was hard to tell some of them apart from one another. Loved the protagonist, though, and would like to continue the series so I can be in her head through the other stages of her life.

A great story! I think my favourite part was past 150 pages or so, I struggled a little to get into it at the beginning.

what an ending! I loved it.

so conflicted on this book the writing was stunning but it took so much brain power to read because it was so dense. i struggled to connect with the characters and get any grasp on their personalities except lila. decent but i won't be continuing the series any time soon

I think this is a very well written novel that can be engaging. If you’re someone that doesn’t like very character-driven novels, you probably won’t like this but if you appreciate the minutia of daily life and how characters change over time, you will probably like this one.
