i tried so so hard to like this poetry collection, but i just dont think it was for me. incredibly talented writing for sure, but with the amount of books im in the middle of i just couldn't invest the time to focus on it

Quite good. I suffered most from my own ignorance. I'm not familiar enough with a lot of the references to really get the fullness of the work, and the ones I did get made me understand what I was missing. Good inspiration to explore more sources.

I thought some of it was really pretty, but the more I read poetry, the more I'm confused by it. It makes me feel lost, and not in a fun way. But yay, Terrance Hayes. Nice metaphors.
