Because this book is a compilation of essays instead of a standard memoir, it doesn't lend itself to a false sense of closure. Instead, it proves that grief is circular, not linear, and is able to comfortably contain life's many contradictory truths (that life is miraculous, that it is grossly unjust, etc.). Its honesty and fearlessness make this a beautiful, powerful book.
