My favourite of this series so far. I like the different writing style (using Australian-isms). Nice to have something a little different to read. I wasn't so sure at the beginning as Macy and Reef's relationship seemed to grow from nothing very quickly. But the second half brought it and them together in a much more believable way. 3.5 stars from me.

Macy and Reef had in common that they had trust issues but both for different reasons. Macy met Reef being his waitress at the diner that he frequented with his teammates every so often and she always attended to them. They started in the cutest way, by writing notes on napkins. But it wasn’t easy with these two because Macy also had insecurities because of her mother. Her dad was her world and Reef respected that. His best friend Chance also adopted Macy and he was also a good addition in this story. They hit a rough patch but secrets were discovered which actually made their relationship stronger. They had each other’s back thru thick and thin. Even though at times I found it hard to connect to the characters, it was a pretty good read.

Having the chance to experience new authors is part of the great thing with all of these new books in the Cocky Hero Club. All of them have offered something unique to this world and I appreciate that. This was the first time reading this author which was nice. However, I am not sure if it was just me or this book in particular but I could not connect with the story or the characters. I am assuming it was the story because the author does have a strong writing ability.

I do not mean for this review to be disparaging to the author and I am not in any way trying to diminish the hard work that she put in this book. I admire her and TOTALLY appreciate her dedication and passion. This is one of the beautiful things about literature is that what is being read affects people differently. Even though this book did not resonate with me it does not mean that another book of hers might not or that this one won't resonate for someone else. I can totally see that happening because there were likable moments in the book with Reef and Macy, and the overall message about the importance of trust and learning to love oneself before you can love someone else is always an important reminder and one that is often missed.

Everyone wins in this novel!

Cocky Notes takes the Cocky Hero Club on a trip back before Chance met Aubrey. I was actually pretty tickled to see Chance before. Its a fun way to be introduced to him and even better knowing all that's in store for him. (Total side perk!) But Cocky Notes isn't about Chance, it's about an Australian Football player and the girl who catches his eye.

Cocky Notes is a fling turned something more. It's romantic, sweet, and rife with misunderstanding, lack of trust, and communication issues. So pretty much every day real life with a sort of fairy tale wonder rolled in.

Cocky or not, the notes are cute and worth entertaining. I wouldn't mind a little napkin poetry myself.

Reef and Macy were so unexpected.
Hook Up material? Definitely?
Falling in love? Not if Macy could help it.

I loved the fact that Reef was different from his d-bag friends, even if it didn't seem like it at times.
I also liked that Macy wasn't at all perfect. In fact, her issues were the main source of drama in this story. So refreshing.
It was a quick and easy read, deliciously hot and the angst was real.

It’s really hard to love someone when you don’t love yourself. This is the dilemma that Macy finds herself in. After spending a lifetime feeling inadequate and unloveable she is shocked that the handsome Reef wanted her.

In this story you get to see struggle from both Macy and Reef as they work through trust issues along with everything else.

It was great to see so much of Chance in this story! All in all this was a good story of much more than love, but of respect for each other and themselves..

This was my fourth Cocky Hero Club book and my first by this author. I loved this book. Reef is my newest book boyfriend.

Macy Reynolds looks after he father and works at a local Italian restaurant waiting tables where she meets Reef Burton who is an AFL player. They officially meet through a series of notes on the cafe’s menus.

Reef and professional soccer player Chance Bateman grew up as friends, and the rivalry between the codes is done with the typical sarcastic Aussie banter.

Reef and Macy’s characters developed throughout the story and they both grew so much in themselves and their ability to reach out and trust.

I received an advance copy of this book. I am voluntarily giving my honest review, and I plan to buy this book when it becomes available.
