Very good book, it kinda reminds me of Vampire Academy. I love that series so I'm sure I'll enjoy this one just as much.

Not going to lie but the number of similarities between this book and Vampire Academy was insane. Having said that the book isn't that bad. Once the author gets away from copying Richelle Mead, it's pretty good. Also as the series goes on it's not as similar to Vampire Academy.

I never have crazy high hopes for the first book in a series bc they are really just building the story. This book was a good but not great building block to further the series. So far I enjoy the characters and think Alex is so bad ass. Her rage and impulsive drive for violence is hilarious. Her disregard for rules makes her a perfect protagonist/main character. I love the awkward moments she shares with Aiden and Seth. I am slightly intrigued by her relationship or lack there of with Seth and interested in how they plan on building it. Over all I would rate this a 3.7⭐️ I look forward to reading the rest of the series and finding out how Alex comes into her powers and training.

I've read this book a long time ago, but recently I decided to reread the whole series and I'm back in love with this world.
Guys this story is fantastic. There is no other way to put it, you have Alex a funny, bad-ass, lovable character who has gone through so much, yet she finds a way to be optimistic and basically survive.
Then we have a swoon worthy male lead, Aiden, who with every chapter you can see how much he is falling for Alex and is trying really hard not to break the rules. Best and most heartbreaking part of it is that he is not doing it for him, but for her. He knows what could happen to her and he wouldn't be able to live with himself if she became a servant because of him. Literally the most amazing guy out there.
Aside from the Greek mythology and all the supernatural elements of the story, it feels like the characters are normal people. They are incredibly relatable and that is what makes me love the story more than anything.
Yes the circumstances are abnormal, but Armentrout brings a normalcy to the characters so natural and relatable is hard not to feel like the way the characters deal with the issues in the story is the same way you/us regular Joes would deal with them as well.
The story is executed beautifully, and it just leaves you wanting more and more and more.

Half-Blood? Vampire Academy's half-bloods Dhampires? Still love this series though.
