I was pretty invested in the story and can honestly say I didn’t see any twist coming despite foreshadowing. I have a few qualms about the plot (like what happened to Kamala?) but it was an interesting read that I enjoyed.

Pushed through because I really wanted to find out all the pieces of the murder puzzle, but the characters were insufferable and awful people.

I am so very appreciative to have received this novel from @pegasus_books . The storyline is a perfect match for me, and my honest review is that I genuinely enjoyed the mystery! A group of college friends who loved to throw murder mystery parties abruptly disbanded after one of their members seemingly vanished into thin air, from a secure room, during a performance. Years later, they’ve been called together for a reunion of sorts, and it’s all a pretty fantastic nestegg plot of the locked-room mystery of the past finally resolving within the murderous locked-room who-dunit of the present. Set at Christmastime, it’s a great holiday read for fans of the genre. I liked this one more than it’s semi-comparable counterpart, The Christmas Murder Game. I did find a few instances where the plot seemed to suddenly jump together, and I think a more subtle slow-build of clues would have felt more seamless, but overall this was a festive, fun bit of mistletoe and mayhem!

A modern retelling of [b:And Then There Were None|16299|And Then There Were None|Agatha Christie|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1638425885l/16299._SY75_.jpg|3038872] with a Twelve Days of Christmas theme. It's a well-written whodunnit with layers of possible motives and red herrings. My only problem was that it was difficult to keep all of the characters straight. It would probably be easier if I had read it rather than listening to the audiobook, and also if the audiobook had multiple narrators. The narrator did a very good job, but it was just tricky to tell it with so many POVs.

This was a bit more of a slow burn but once I was in, I was in! I loved it!

It was a bit hard to follow, but I really had no idea who was behind everything. Then I found out who and why and got annoyed haha

It was a twist that I didn’t see coming and it wasn’t too outlandish. A real page turner that had constant momentum
