This sweet, cozy read packs a bigger punch than any self help book I’ve ever read. This two-book series has truly touched my heart. ⁣

A Psalm for the Crown-Shy explores the human tendency to seek purpose and worry about being “enough” for others. We live in a society that praises hard work- but sometimes hard work is equated to working until you have nothing left to give. We live in a society that encourages people to find their “purpose”- but purpose is often equated with money and public accomplishments. Because of these goals we have set for ourselves, we lose sight of how to actually enjoy our existences without judgment or pressure. This book challenges that, and I love it

4.5 stars. I love this series by Becky Chambers. Definitely worth picking this and Psalm for the Wild-Built if you’re looking for cozy, uplifting reads that make you think. I wish that the books were a little less of a weird utopia with no real cultural diversity. Wondering what direction the third book will go in.

cant remember the last time a finished a book in one day, even if it’s less than 200 pages but covid has my body and head feeling crappy so can’t do anything but read and sleep, and this was just the book i needed, quick and easily digestible and cozy. i’ve been meaning to read it since i finished the first book back in january and finally got around to it and loved it just as much as the first one
