This book is wonderfully written and very engaging but I’m a more enervated person than when I went in. If you want to feel worse about the world read this book.

Je suis dévastée par ce livre. Il raconte le pire de la nature humaine et le désespoir.
Betty était léger comme une plume à côté de L’été où tout à fondu. Mais malgré cela je ne pouvais m’empêcher de lire. Des personnages si bien écrits, une histoire et un environnement si réaliste qui nous étouffe peu à peu, comme les personnages, avec l’aide de là canicule. Existentiel et trivial à la fois. Ce livre va me hanter.

Up until the last few chapters, this book was a 3 star read for me. But my god… the writing is beautiful and it just does grief so well… 

and Eloheim?!?! I knew he was bad but GOD that was WILD. My JAW DROPPED
