I got a copy for review in exchange for an honest review.

I love original books and when I got asked if I wanted to review this book I didn't even doubt. the blurb sounded so original I knew I had to read it. This book certainly surprised me, it was different than I expected on some points, but at least one thing I expected right it really is an original story and I am so glad I got the chance to read it.

The story is what pulls this book, I seldomly read books in which the story is so strong compared to the other parts. The story was full of action and fast paced. The story started immediately and never left it's fast pace. I read this book almost in one sitting, because as soon as I was into the story I just wanted to keep reading, because there where so many things happening and I wanted to know what was going to happen next. The beginning did was a bit confusing, because I like explanations and at first there isn't explanation there is just story.

The characters are likeable, but I did think there could've been a bit more attention to them. Even though the characters do have distinct personalities and I really liked the main character. Olivia was such a believeable character, also she didn't believe everything people told her and she thinks things through.

The world building was something that really lacked at the beginning. The concept and idea is so original and interesting that i wanted to know everything about it. I also had no idea at first how the world saw Olivia's ghost hand and if everyone saw it or not. A lot becomes clear as you keep on reading, but nevertheless I thought there was too less world building. I just wanted to know more and everytime a question was answered I had come up with more questions and there was just not enough explanation. There was just so much I didn't understand at the end of the book, but I still really liked this book because the story was just that good and original.

To conclude: this is a really enjoyable book, with an original plot. The story is fast paced and filled with action. The main character is really likeable, but I thought there was too little world building. The story is really original and I would certainly recommend this book.

For me, this book wasn't bad and it wasn't great. It was a shrug of the shoulders and a, "meh." I went into it expecting a really fun adventure with a strong female lead who had amazing powers. The book kind of delivered.
What I enjoyed:
The idea behind the story. Having a psychic power hand that can unlock doors, reach through matter, and pull dark secrets out of people? Yes, please. Sign me up! The concept is great and has a lot of potential for some wonderful world-building. I also enjoyed the brief glimpses of strength that Olivia, our main character, possessed. If it had been a more stable part of her character, she would have been quite the hero.
Eh, not so much:
The author couldn't seem to decide if Olivia was a goth, just dark-personality-type, or sunny and cheerful. It came across to me as a huge waste of character development. Why make her goth at times if you aren't going to explore it? She only seemed goth when it suited the story...which wasn't very often. Also, the relationship with her mother was not good, and her reaction to it seemed unrealistic. I've known plenty of teenagers who had an outright hostile relationship with their parent(s), and they never reacted as mediocre as Olivia did. There should have been more anger, hatred, and outbursts if Olivia were a real person...which would have been another place to bring in the dark/goth side of her. Along with that, most of the relationships felt off to me. The romance felt chemistry-free. The BFF was there as a side character with little help or comfort to offer Olivia. Not really much of a BFF. And the relationships of all the side characters to Olivia were forced and sometimes pretty flat. I found myself not caring what happened to the side characters because there was no emotional connection with them.
Overall: if you want something light to read while waiting for the next book in a series to come out, this is an option. Or, for a better option, try [b:The Body Finder|6261522|The Body Finder (The Body Finder, #1)|Kimberly Derting|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1358266631s/6261522.jpg|6196751] instead.

I'm on the fence about this book. Interesting concept, jerky central characters. And of course there's the protagonist being the super special of all the specials *sigh*.

I got this book from the author, free of cost, in exchange of an honest review from my side.
Firstly I would like to thank Ripley Patton, author of Ghost Hand, who gave me this opportunity of reading and reviewing this fabulous book.
This was a great read with a surprisingly unique story line and enthralling plot. Here we meet Olivia who has Psyche Sans Soma (PSS). It is a defect with which a child takes birth where a part of the body is not made up of flesh and blood but of ethereal energy and Olivia’s right hand has the same defect which she referred to as the Ghost Hand. She is a Goth and dresses like one with black outfit and spending time in cemetery. Things were going on in their usual manner until one day her Ghost Hand acted weirdly and all hell broke loose. There is someone out there who is using the powers of the people infected by PSS and now its Olivia’s turn. Marcus shows up in her school and he has sworn to protect the PSS having people from such dangerous intentions. Will they succeed in unraveling the culprit or will he take away Olivia as his next target?
I really enjoyed this story a lot. It has power-packed action and the uniqueness of it made it a refreshing read as well. The characters are great and I liked the attention that the author paid to the side characters but I disliked Olivia’s character a little because it was a little irritating sometimes when she acted stupidly and the Goth behavior is cliche. Marcus was great and hot as well and the plot is well planned out as well. The writing style of the author is comfortable and I liked the detailed descriptions of each scene. I felt that there was a lack in the description and history of PSS and how it started infecting some particular people. Over all a good read which is full of mystery and suspense and unexpected twists and turns and most likely a hot brewing romance between Olivia and Marcus. I would recommend it to ya all and hope that you guys like it as well.

This book was awesome and hard to put down. Everything from the original, never-seen-before theme of PSS (phantom/ghostlike limbs) to the characters and overall plot was great. Olivia was a relatable heroine, bringing into the story a strong female lead that handles things they best way she can after her somewhat normal life is ripped away from her. Marcus and the guys were each interesting in their own way, Nose seemed like he took everything as a joke, Jason's trigger happiness and short temper were understandable, and Yale seemed a little reserved. I hope we see more depth to him in the next books. Throughout the novel I kept expecting Olivia's mother to be working with the CAMFERs but I was wrong. Passion Wainwright was the most surprising character. I'm glad she had more depth than the bible thumper I pegged her as. My favorite scenes were when Olivia found out where Yale's PSS was and when Marcus and Olivia were practicing using the bullet with the frisbees, I can so picture Jason's reaction!

Overall this book kept the reader engaged. There is quite a bit of swearing throughout so I don't recommend for young teens. (it didn't bother me, but I'm 23. I know some parents are more critical of what kind of content their kids are reading).

I really enjoyed this book. Right from the first chapter, this book had me hooked, wondering what Olivia's hand was going to do next, what was causing it to happen. I can't wait to read the next book now! One of the best books I've read in a while of this genre.

I finished this book in little over a day. It started with action and kept going. This was such a different idea that was intriguing the entire time. This is definitely a story I can't wait to read more of. I think the only part that was weird was the romance part mostly because of how quickly it happened and it just seemed out of place so early ina story lie this. Otherwise this was a great book and I can't wait to read the rest of the books.

So I'm still trying to decide what I think of this one. I liked the idea of the book. Not sure about the characters. I think my issue with the book was Olivia. I get that she's special or she can be sensitive about the PSS or whatever, but I think she was a jerk. She didn't really give a crap what she did or who it affected. It's like "Screw you, I march to the beat of my own drum, and you be damned if you don't follow me." Idk, she didn't really give Marcus a fair shot either, I think she was a realllllll jerk to him.

There really wasn't much of an explanation for PSS. I mean, they were very vague about everything. I'm hoping as the series progresses there will be more about this, and that Olivia lightens up.
