The "Im not like other girls" syndrome is so very strong with this one its giving me flash backs to junior high. My eyes are in danger of being permanently rolled to the back of my head. Here is the thing about Felicity, I should identify with her: I love to learn new things, I work in a male dominated field, AND I also find people both tiresome and annoying. But she is just so self-righteous Im not surprised she doesn't have any friends. In chapter 11 she goes on and on about being a princess in a tower and then says ‘…I brace my feet, then rescue myself.’ When has anyone tried to ‘rescue you’ before? This is not a normal way for actually self sufficient people think. It is, however, exactly the way self important people think about doing normal things. I didn't like her in the first book but thought Lee's ability to make Monty likable with humor would transfer over to Felicity in this one. It did not work for me. At all. :/ Also, we dont get Pirates till like the very end! I feel like that is false advertising, I wanted wayyyyy more pirate action.

Honestly, I cannot even really express my love for this book and author.

AND I am oh so happy to say it freaking holds up to the first book .... and dare I even say takes it a step further.

So much love for this series, the representation, the wonderful stories and adventures and of course the characters that will forever have a place in my heart.

It honestly deserves more than 5 stars.

I loved Felicity in the first book so it was a joy to watch the character grow. This book has a Queer Muslim Pirate, an Asexual Aspiring Doctor, and a strong-willed Femme with a love for animals as a powerhouse trio and I enjoyed every minute.
