A beautiful story of grief and love that was simultaneously heartbreaking and heartwarming. The writing style took me a while to get into, but I think it was a perfect match for the story and characters the author had written. This is one of those books that will stay with me for a long time and I look forward to returning to it at some point.

this is exactly the kind of story i usually adore, but for some reason it just didn't click with me this time. i blame my reading slump. the 2nd half was way more engaging than the 1st one tho

This just was not doing it for me.  The only way for me to describe it is forgettable.  I thoroughly struggled to finish it; I cant leave a book unfinished, but boy was this hard.

I sympathize with the events:
loss of a loved one, abusive parents, AIDS, and sexual orientation.
Yet, it all fell flat with the characters themselves.  There were very few times where I felt any emotion other than boredom while reading.

Maybe this just wasn’t for me

This is exactly my kind book. Tin Man is a quiet story that is character driven and incredibly moving. It covers a lot of big topics like love, loss, grief, and identity in such a beautiful way and left me with an ache in my chest.
