This is going to be the perfect summer read. Switching narratives between two friends who are keeping secrets and going through relationship break ups. This book is over the space of one weekend festival and so much happens and it is unbelievably good.

Wow I haven't read a book this quickly in forever! I kind of want to give it a higher rating because it was so easy and quick to read, but in reality it's a 3star. I liked it, but it wasn't anything mind blowing. It would definitely be cute as a movie. Honestly I thought most of the characters were awful, even the one I did like (Ruby) was awful at a point, but in a way it made them more real. It took me a while to get used to the back and forth narration. At first I thought maybe it should've been written in third person, but it worked fine as is. Hopefully this reading kick stays cause I reallyyy want to get back to reading tons.

This was such a beautiful story about two lovely girls. The plot was fast-paced and full of every problem you could imagine that left me hungry for more whenever I put it down!

Ruby and Kaz are your typical teenage best friends who both have boy troubles. And they go to a music festival - Remix - to try escape them, but it turns out they're going to have a harder time hiding from their problems...

I love Pratt's style of writing too - it's easy, understandable and moves along simply. The last page especially really got to me.

Overall, I really really enjoyed this read and I shall soon be trying to get my hands on Unboxed and Trouble :)

It's great that some YA titles don't shy away from what teenagers are actually like. This is a book about friendships, relationships, secrets, truths, and making the right decisions. It shows the emotional devastation that sex can cause without demonising 'sex' itself. All in all I felt this was realistic and sex-positive.
Oh, this review is very misleading. It's also about a music festival.

Compared to Trouble, this book was SUCH a letdown. I didn't connect with any of the characters, least of all the main ones. Their actions were deplorable, and their reactions were unconvincing. I wish I had more to say about this book, but I really don't.

Music festivals have blown up lately, and I was hoping this book could capture the fun, fleeting, and exhilarating quality to them. Instead, there were a series of lewd (and largely unbelievable) actions and more drama than The Real World.. This short weekend felt detached from reality in almost every way.

Long story short: two best friends spend the novel being obsessed with really blatantly terrible men, some statutory rape happens. Predictable and boring with a weak plot full of stupid and avoidable drama.

What a great read! I've wanted to pick this one up for quite a while now, and it didn't disappoint.

The plot...I really liked it! It's not too fast-paced but it also keeps you firmly gripped to the characters and story.

The characters...I admit, I felt mixed about them. They were both bitchy throughout the book and inconsiderate of those around them...but I think that's kind of the point. No one's perfect, and we all make mistakes. But that's okay, and it doesn't mean we're bad people. However, I felt both Kaz and Ruby were...oblivious in some parts. I'm not saying it's a bad thing (as I'm sure it was intentional), that's just partly how I feel.

The writing...I loved it! As with the plot, it's simple and easy to read but it's also got a lot of depth and meaning behind it. Yeah, this book might not have been the most poetic. But it was raw, relatable...and real. Sometimes, we always need to be reminded we're not alone, and that book made sure of that.

Something I liked...the setting. A book set at a music festival? Full of action and fun but also reality? Like the toilets not having paper and the tents being squished together? Bring. It. On.

Something I disliked...nothing, really! Sure, little things niggled me, like the whole Ruby/Kaz being bitchy thing. But in the end, that's life, and that's exactly what this book was about. Best friends can get through anything. Everything. No matter what.

My rating is...

Not bad but wouldn’t read again. Think I would’ve enjoyed much more when I was in my teens rather than now
